This Privacy Policy describes how the Sailboat (“we,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the sailing simulator on the Guaíba River (app and web version).
1. About Us
Veleiro is an independently developed sailing simulator. For questions about privacy or personal data, please contact us by email deivison.sporteman@gmail.com.
2. Data We Collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may process:
- Account: Email and user ID (Firebase Authentication), when you create an account using email and password or Google.
- Game Profile: boat name, total nautical miles, and progress of the sail (position, sails, wind).
- Regattas: race logs and summaries (boat positions, duration, results), associated with your user ID.
- Usage / analytics: usage events (e.g., gameplay session, stuck state), via Google Analytics (Firebase) and internal logs, when available.
- Local data: preferences and progress stored on the device (localStorage), even when visiting without an account.
In mode visitor, the progress is mainly stored on your device. When you create an account, this data can be linked and synced to the cloud (Firebase).
3. How We Use the Data
- To authenticate you and maintain your account;
- Save and sync your profile, miles, and progress across devices;
- Record and analyze races to improve the game;
- Understand how to use the app and troubleshoot issues;
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to your requests (e.g., account deletion).
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Sharing and Providers
We use services from Google / Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Realtime Database, and, when configured, Analytics) for authentication, storage, and metrics. These providers process data in accordance with their own policies and agreements with us.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, security, and integrity of the service.
5. Retention
We retain the data for as long as your account exists or as long as it is necessary to operate the app. Local data remains on your device until you clear your browser or app storage. After you delete your account (see below), we remove or anonymize the associated data within a reasonable timeframe to process your request.
6. Your Rights
You may, in accordance with applicable law (including the LGPD in Brazil):
- View and edit profile information within the app itself (e.g., boat name);
- Request deletion of the account and associated data;
- Get information about how your data is processed.

7. Children
Veleiro is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not intentionally collect data from minors in this age group. If we become aware of any unauthorized collection, we will take steps to remove the data.
8. Security
We have taken reasonable measures (including Firebase infrastructure) to protect the data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top indicates the current version. Your continued use of the app after changes are made means that you are aware of the updated policy.
